Picolit 2008
Region: King Valley
Grapes: 100% Picolit
Despite having planted Picolit vines over seven years ago, this is only the second vintage that Pizzini have been able to produce. This is because of the vines fragility and its tendency to abort flowers during fruit set.It is common for the resultant bunches to contain only ten tiny berries. But when the vines yield a comfortable quantity to make a wine, the result is a golden coloured, sweet and luscious dessert style. For centuries princes and bishops alike enjoyed this rare dessert wine hailing from Friuli in Italys north east. Tasting Notes: This noble wine has citrus, spice, peach, nectarine and floral notes. The palate is sweet with limey, crisp acidity. It is fresh with long, lingering flavours.
