2008 Vintage
D.O. : Yecla Grape Variety: 100% Monastrell Wine Making This wine is made from selected well-ripened grapes from low-yielding, un-irrigated vineyards.
The aromas, soft and sugary tannins, and intense colour are extracted from the Monastrell grapes by light crushing followed by long cool maceration. The wine is then aged in oak to develop its complexity. Tasting Notes The wine has a dense, brilliant, deep red cherry colouration. It has a nose of ripe fruits, overripe grapes and black plums, with a finish of cocoa. This is a full-bodied wine with a smooth, round, palate and long finish, with a good balance of sweetness, fresh acidity and dense tannins. Serving Suggestions Ideal with strong cheeses (blue, Manchego), goose foie gras, chocolate cake, cream caramel and some typical Yecla sweets like libricos (homemade delicacy made of flour, cinnamon and honey).
