2006 Vintage
Region: Barossa Valley Grapes: 95% shiraz and 5 % cabernet sauvignon Veritas Winery was established in 1955 by Rolf Heinrich Binder. In 2005, on their 50th Anniversary, Veritas became Rolf Binder Wines. The winery tradition is now continued by Rolf and Christa, as brother and sister winemakers, jointly awarded Barossa Winemakers of the year 2005. The philosophy of all Rolf Binder Wines is to let the vineyard tell its own story. The Rolf Binder 2006 Heysen Shiraz is no exception. Tasting Notes: From 30+ year old vines, aged in 40% new oak. Opaque cherry black in colour, with aromas of blackberries, plums, licorice, leather, coffee, tobacco, and spice. In the mouth a cascade of flavours are offered up, plum, dark cherry, pepper, coffee and spice. A savoury, full-bodied wine, supple and elegant, which finishes with good acidity and smooth tannins.
