2008 Vintage
D.O. Calatayud Grape Variety: 100% Tempranillo. Vineyard The vineyards are 30-40 years old, set in a mountainous area with altitudes from 600m to 1000m. The climate is dry in summer and cold in winter. The soil is chalky and stony, providing good natural drainage. The average yield of the vineyard is 3000 kg/h.
Wine Making The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15 to 20 days at a temperature of 24ºC-28ºC. It is then malolactic fermented, prior to storage in barrels, where it is aged for 10 months in American and French oak barrels. Tasting Notes The wine has an intense red colour with violet hues. It has good aromatic intensity of toasted vanilla and mature red fruits. This is a full-bodied wine, with concentrated flavours of fruit and mature tannins. The palate is well balanced, elegant and complex with good length.
