Chateau De Campuget The Chateau de Campuget is a very ancient family estate with a long history of wine production. The act of allegiance of 14th March 1753, reveals the existence of a vineyard at Campuget.
The famous stones rolled by the Rhône cover a large part of the 180 hectare vineyards. Thanks to this cool, damp soil the vine can stand up to the high temperatures of the Mediterranean climate without any need for irrigation.
The Mediterranean climate is greatly influenced by the Mistral winds which act like a sort of vine "doctor". The wind blowing regularly ensures that the air is dry and healthy, ideal for maturing grapes.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby coloured, on the nose the wine is intense with red fruits and hints of cinnamon, leather and vanilla. In the mouth it is dominated by blackcurrant and finishes long with pepper and sweet spices. A complex, elegant wine, dominated by blackcurrant and peppery notes.
Cellar: up to 8 years
Accompanys: Lamb, red meat and cheese.
